Flexible lesson time

Apply in Primary 1 to 3. This enables teachers to cope with students having different learning abilities.

Assisting students with different needs

EDB Student Guidance Officer, counselling teachers, subject teachers and upper primary students to assist students with different language abilities.

Language Enhancement Classes are given to Primary 1 to 3 students.

 

 

 

 

Four Related Areas

Reading Scheme, Information and Technology, Project Learning, Moral and Civic Education

 

(1)   “Library” lesson is a formal lesson within the timetable.  To enact the reading scheme, the school has conducted a “Reading Is Fun” Award Scheme to encourage the students to do more reading in their spare time. Teachers recommend various reading materials to our students in different subjects, which helps to diversify our students' scope of interest.

(2)   We encourage students to participate in different kinds of competition related to information technology.

(3)   Excursion for all, catering for different learning experiences.

(4)   Religious, moral and guidance education are incorporated in Life Education.

 

 

 

Cross-curriculum Subjects

(1)  Chinese CultureA “QEF” Project Learning Program held by Chinese 

University of Hong Kong.

(2)   Oversea Study Tours for upper primary students. P.4-Macau, P.5-Singapore and  

P.6-Taiwan.

 

 

Others

(1)   Adaptation Days and other activities such as “Knowing RHS Primary” for New 

Primary 1 students before September, to allow students to become familiarized with the school and to adapt to primary school life with the assistance of the upper primary students.

2)   Each classroom is comprised of students from different cultures where both

Chinese and English are used as the major ones.  Biliteracy and trilingualism are the main focus in our curriculum.

3)   There are four sections in the school: Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary, and       Business Sections with close communication and interaction.

4)   Meals are cooked daily for our students at the kitchen of the school canteen.

5)   We have our own school bus service for the convenience of our students.

 

 

School Culture and Students Assistance

1)      The school is run by Dominican fathers, a famous and traditional religious group

in Europe.

2)      The school is a multi-cultural community with students of diverse ethnic

Backgrounds such as Europeans, Japanese, Philippinos and Indians with this environment, the students' horizons are broadened and the language skills are also enriched.

3)   Our students are confident and self-disciplined.

4)   The parent volunteers help to implement activities. There is good collaboration       between school and parents.

5)  Student-ambassadors are trained to provide various services to the school. The service teams help students to cultivate a sense of independence and confidence.

靈活運用課時        上課時間靈活安排,方便老師照顧不同能力的學生。

 

多元化評估          說話評估、課堂評核、小測、專題學習、紙筆評估及使用多媒體器材的考核等。

 

照顧學習差異的策略  教育局註校輔導學生主任與本校輔導老師,班主任老師及高年級學生共同努力協助不同學習能力的學生。

(1)  學校積極推行廣範閱讀計劃及訂定每週一日為圖書閱讀日,鼓勵學生利用課餘時間閱讀課外讀物,增進知識。不同科目的老師亦鼓勵學生閱讀有關學習範圍的課外讀物,以加強所學。

(2)   資訊科技課鼓勵學生參與不同形式的比賽,汲取經驗。

(3)   專題研習:安排各級學生參觀香港及海外不同地方,豐富學習經驗,作不同

層面的專題研習報告。

(4)  宗教教育、公民教育及輔導教育整合為生命教育。

 

 

跨科項目

(1)   教統局優質教育基金香港中文大學統籌「中華文化中國心」學習計畫。

(2)   高年級學生「跳出香港」學習計畫,安排學生認識香港以外的地區: 四年級 

澳門、五年級星加坡、六年級台灣等。

 

 

其他

九月上課前,學校會為新學年小一學生安排不同的活動,例如「親子認識學校活動」、「遊戲日」及「模擬上課活動」等,以協助學生銜接及適應小學生活。

中、外籍學生共融互動,成功推行兩文三語。

午膳由本校飯堂每日炊煮,新鮮衛生。

本校由幼稚園部、小學部、中學部及商科部四個學部構成,學部間互動及聯繫密切。
