Closure of School Owing to Tropical Cyclones, Heavy Persistent Rain and Thunderstorms |

Instructions from the Education and Manpower Bureau are summarized as follows:- Tropical Cyclones Hoisting of No.8 signal or above, all schools will close. If schools are not in session when a tropical cyclone is approaching, the Director of Education and Manpower Bureau will, if the circumstances warrant it, make an announcement over radio and television channels advising parents whether or not to send their children to school. The announcement will be made in the evening or early morning, and will be timed, whenever possible, before children set out from home. The first announcement in the morning for AM and whole-day schools will not be later than 6: 15 a .m.
1.3 If schools are in session under a No.1 or No.3 signal, and the Director of EMB is advised that the situation is likely to deteriorate rapidly, he will make a public announcement over radio and television stations advising the immediate closure of schools. The school will ensure safe and adequate arrangements for pupils to return home. |

Heavy Persistent Rain and Thunderstorms
When the Red rainstorm warning is in force, all schools will close.
When a period of heavy persistent rain and thunderstorms occurs, the Director of EMB will, if the circumstances warrant it, make an announcement over radio and television channels advising parents whether or not to send their children to school. Again, where possible, the announcement will be made in the evening or early morning before children set out from home. The first announcement in the morning for AM sessions will not be later than 6: 15 a .m. The announcement will be repeated at regular and frequent intervals.
However, if the situation suddenly deteriorates, it may be necessary for the Director of EMB to announce the suspension of classes even after 6: 15 a .m. Under such circumstances, an announcement will be made over radio and television channels advising pupils to stay at home if they have not already set out for school; while those who have already arrived at school should stay there and under custody of the school until the situation warrants a safe journey home.

Closure of Schools in Individual Districts
In exceptional circumstances, the Director of EMB may announce the closure of schools or the suspension of classes in one or more districts. Pupils living in such districts need not go to school even if their schools are located elsewhere. Students and parents should be clear that the district in which our school is located at WANCHAI DISTRICT .

Notes for parents of students who take our school bus
Whenever the school is in session, and if the Director of EMB announces the suspension of classes, our school will proceed as follows:
The school will dismiss our students by school bus following the order below: a) Secondary Section b) Kindergarten and Business Studies Section c) Primary Section
2. The school will release information (such as our downward bus time) through radio, television, school web-page, SMS to those parents who had subscribed to it.
3. Parents are free to come and fetch their children. |

If there are any tests or examinations which happen to fall on the day of school closure/suspension of classes, those test/examination subjects will be postponed to the next day following the same order of the time-table. |
